One of the movie trailers you will be seeing during the 2009 Super Bowl is for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It should appear a few minutes into the 3rd quarter of the game.
The movie is scheduled to hit the theaters June 29, 2009 and I am sure the DVD will be in time for Christmas. The director, Michael Bay himself, promised a full teaser next week (Feb. 13).
The cat-like Transformer at about 7 seconds is Ravage.
In the final scene you’ll see Optimus Prime leaping in front of a Construction, which is a combination of several robots to form one giant Decepticon (bad robot). These will probably form into one ridiculously huge transformer aptly named Devastator.
The Plot
Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky prisoner, after the young hero learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers. Joining the mission to protect humankind is Optimus Prime, who forms an alliance with international armies for a second epic battle.
The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron’s dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.
